Mercedes Benz has long been a supporter of fashion, as a corporate sponsor for Fashion Weeks around the world, and their ties to the industry have just become stronger. For the launch of the new SLS AMG model, Mercedes tapped avant-garde fashion designer Gareth Pugh and legendary fashion photographer Nick Knight to collaborate on its advertising campaign. Pugh created one of his signature sci-fi inspired looks for the shoot – a chrome-like silver paneled dress with larger-than-life shoulders and matching leggings. The dimensional headpieces featured are similar to those in his S/S 10 show. Top model Julia Stegner stars in the shoot, lending her natural elegance to the edgy image. Nick Knight’s innovative photography and post-production give a sense of movement to the image that fits perfectly with the car’s groundbreaking design.
