Hi – I’m still Eddie and this is still my European hangover. You’re along for the ride as I recap and recover from nearly a month in Europe at the women’s ready-to-wear shows in London, Milan, and Paris. Speaking of Paris – this is one of my favorite cities in the world and home to some of the most stylish people in the world. The truth is though that Paris itself provides such a beautiful and dramatic setting, almost everyone looks better when photographed against it. Which is not to say that Parisians – and the people from around the world who are in town for fashion week – are not already beautiful. It’s just that even a diamond looks better when showcased in a dramatic jewel box. Perhaps my favorite jewel box of all is Les Tuileries. Hard by the Louvre, the Seine, the luxury hotels at Place Vendome and Place de la Concorde – not to mention the stunning view at the west entrance straight up the Champs Elysees to the Arc de Triomphe – this uber-garden is really the beating heart of Paris. It’s one of the best locations in the world for staging a runway show. Can someone please make sure that the awesome Richard Serra sculptures are kept on display permanently? Check out some of my streetstyle shots from the Tuileries…xx
