London…Christopher Kane

Even Christopher Kane traded in his over-the-top looks for ladylike chic with his F/W 09 collection. His neon brights from last season turned grey and black with windowpane plaids on pencil skirts and cardigans, both paired with double-breasted blazers. Sheer dresses had a futuristic feel in black silk organza, layered over nude slips in cubist shapes. A basket weave of interlaced metallic strips created enhanced depth. Inspired by the Natural Born Killers soundtrack, Kane mused, “She’s a bit of a twisted sister,” as the girls marched to the music down the runway.
