London fashion week plays host to some of the coolest footwear and accessory designers, from Charlotte Olympia to Sophia Webster. Their quirky, bold footwear styles are perfect for Instagram, and look stunning as they guide the models to the catwalk finish line, or in Sophia Webster’s case, the shoes were showcased in cages this season, like beautiful birds of prey.

This season in London, brought the unexpected too. Possibly the most-tweeted about pair of shoes to hit the catwalk this fashion week, was the Christopher Kane collaboration with Crocs. Kane is celebrating 10 years in the business this year, and shocked crowds who’ve come to expect his beautiful womenswear pieces, by attempting to add a fashionable edge to Crocs, the ultimate comfort footwear. His experiment didn’t quite succeed in turning around the perception of these shoes, the move was widely criticised on social media.

That said, the models sporting these shoes in the Christopher Kane S/S17 show were undoubtedly the most comfortable models on the catwalk thus far, not one model fell over.

Back again this S/S17 season are espadrilles, the flat woven Spanish sandal that took Spring/Summer 2016 by storm. Block heels and clear perspex heels are also back in force for the new season.

Check out some of the shoe-heaven highlights we’ve curated from LFW catwalk.
