Frankie Morello

Milan: Design duo Maurizio Modica and Pierfrancesco Gigliotti are known for taking a theme and running with it. In a complete 180° from last season’s gothic rock-vixen, this season’s girl was all about light, sheer ethereal bliss. Most press came from the display of beer-swigging, water-throwing, dancing models that paraded down the catwalk, but the clothes themselves represent a true shift in the Junior market. Frankie Morello’s girl is certainly about getting noticed, but not for dancing to the beat of her own drum. The pastel palette, sheer long layers and wide 1970s inspired trouser confirm several key themes of the season, and due to their appearance on the Morello runway, indicate their broad, mass appeal.
