Spring is in the air and that leads us into the start of another exciting new season. The Masters tournament is set to begin on Monday April 8th, kicking-off the PGA season for 2013. Taking place in Augusta, Georgia complete with rolling greens, cherry blossoms and some serious gear – it’s looking to be a great season!

Starting on Monday, tune into the Masters Tournament website for a live feed of the tournament, as well as any stats and facts to keep up to date. Until then however, we have compiled our favorite golf inspiration from unexpected sources.

In a light-hearted start to the season, a new meme has surfaced in the golf world. In an appearance in Dallas, Jason Dunfer was called out by the press for looking bored in a photo that went viral after hitting the front page of Deadspin. Naturally, the rest of the PGA had to get in on the action and “Dunfering” was born.

Bubba Watson

Speaking of last years Masters Champ Bubba Watson – our favorite thing we’ve seen all week has to be the BW1. We love Bubba, and we also love that he has apparently worked with specialist to creat a Hovercraft golf cart. Because as he says in the video below, “You can drive right across a water hazard, because who doesn’t want to do that?” We agree Bubba.

Just when you thought golf shoes consisted of neutrals and premium leathers, photos of some pretty unusual cleats have been surfacing as the season approaches. After appearing in the  new promo video for the recently released Koston 2, Tiger Woods and Eric Koston seemed to have bonded over love for the game and photos of shoes surfaced on the internet shortly after. Koston, a known golf fan had a pair of his newest model crafted into a golf shoe and then signed by his fellow Nike-athlete on set.

No matter what your sport of choice is, we can all agree that golf continues to get more exciting each season – and this season will be no exception. Don’t forget to tune in starting Monday for the kick-off of the 2013 Masters Tournament!
