Food & Consumer: The Experimental Food Society Spectacular

The Experimental Food Society has announced it’s second annual Spectacular for Autumn this year, held at the Truman Brewery; a fantastical display by Britain’s most talented and pioneering gourmet artists.

The two-day event and exhibition will comprise awe-inspiring demonstrations, samplings, interactive installation’s and a menu-devising game show by food futurologists, culinary sonic artists, sculptors and food magicians hoping to “challenge your perception of food”.

The Society will additionally join forces with the Victoria & Albert Museum as part of the V&A Connects series The Wilderness Year to present talks and videos of some of the artworks created for the ‘Spectacular’ exhibition.

Members of the society include Bompass & Parr, Lily Vanilli, Marawa The Amazing and The Rebel Dining Society, currently making huge waves on the gastronomy scene with projects such as the Selfridges green rooftop Boating Lake, and the Young British Foodies award for culinary creativity, as recently featured on our Stylesight blog.

The exhibition will then be followed by a ticket only ‘wild themed banquet’ at The Folly restaurant in the City of London, in which 160 diners will partake in a multi-sensory dining experience comprising a five-course menu with sonic experiences and food related performances from artists such as Yum Cha Cha and the Lady Greys.
