Renovated a few years back, Florence’s Grand Hotel Villa Cora is a 19th-century mansion just recently turned hotel. This opulent haven sits adjacent to the Viale dei Colli gardens and boasts panoramic views of the romantic city. An ode to its history, Villa Cora is replete with marble floors, ornate details and Baroque-lined silk draperies. Nicknamed the “Grande Dame,” this stunning mansion features 46 luxury rooms (of which include the Cigar Room and the Hall of Mirrors), as well as Turkish baths and LED-lit bar tops. Past guests of the mansion include Napolean III, Tchaikovsky, Princess Eugenia and the Japanese Emperor Hirohito. Bask in the history and indulge in the romance of the city at this lavish escape. –Sarah Ryan Hecht
