Spring has sprung onto the High Street with a new posy of pretty floral prints.
With the warmer weather creeping in, we are once again welcoming the arrival of spring with this season’s interpretations of pretty floral prints. Our friends over at Denim Therapy, planted this seed into our minds with a bouquet of their favorite floral items. Flowered patterns dominated retail across spring summer 2010, where we reported on Summer Blooms, Floral Accents and Indigo Springs. Colorful floral print dresses were especially featured in our August analysis, along with rompers and short shorts, which have returned for spring this year.
This season’s prints are nothing new from last season, but the continuous play with flower types and arrangement of color always makes the trend different and relevant. Spring 11 flowers range from romantic roses on a denim jackets, to pastel petals on playsuits. For S/S 11, go for bold all-over floral prints like those at Topshop or ASOS, or make an outfit pop with high-waisted shorts from Etsy or Delia’s. These flirty and playful items are a manifesto of feminity and they forecast a hot, joyful summer.
