Flash Projects is showing Canned Candies featuring iconic photographs from a collaboration between Jean Clemmer and Paco Rabanne that explores sensuality, fantasy and haute couture in Paris during 1960’s.
The exhibition was first published in Paris in 1969 as Nues and now, to celebrate its 50th anniversary, Flash Projects is hosting the original vintage photographs at their pop-up space in London. Paired with the pieces from Canned Candies the gallery will show related works in which Clemmer also studied the female form.
The black and white photographs embrace sensuality and the sexual freedom of the 1960’s. The works reveal passionate movements and erotic poses of models adorned in “unwearable” fashions – chain-mail dresses, jewelry, belts – by famed French couturier Paco Rabanne.
Showing at the Flash Projects Pop-up: November 26, 2010 – December 18, 2010.
