Milan: Deception was the key word for the Fendi Spring/Summer collection: Silvia Venturini Fendi sent out a menswear collection on what appeared to be a rain-slick gravel runway evoking scenes of dingy parking lots at midnight. The clothes were just as dark and deceptively cool, with high-class urban attitude. Functionality and comfort formed the key themes: loose, simple silhouettes were offered in rich fabrications, screaming sophistication; T-shirts gleamed with a dull gold or silver lacquer, popping out from underneath drop shoulder coats in eye-popping rubber, gradient python and supple suede’s. Tracksuit bottoms came in hi-shine leather whilst a granite print – carried over from the Womens’ Resort collection – provided a pop-esque visual interest on utility style separates.
