HIGH LOW COUNTRY
New York: Fendi furs are legendary, a hallmark of luxury since the house’s inception in 1925, but in Karl Lagerfeld’s hands the shaggy overcoats and vests receive new life. Pre-Fall brought an edgy combination of loungewear and sophistication, pairing elegant sequin t-shirts with jersey drawstring jogging pants or topping cable-knit mini shorts with a draped shearling jacket. This type of juxtaposition became the pivot point of the collection, working a grown up ice blue blazer against urban leather leggings or a sweet velvet peasant dress against aggressive oxblood combat boots. No matter the contrast, each ensemble was chock full of certified cool-girl must-haves like leather t-shirts, soft jumpsuits, tailored cashmere overcoats and printed silk dresses.—Nina Stotler
