London: The sisters behind edgy label Felder Felder have honed their brand of directional rocker-chick fashion over the past few seasons, resulting in collections that are reliably heavy on leather, tough metal embellishements and loads of black. This season represented a slight departure from this formula; a lighter romantic touch was infused throughout via airy pastels, intricately crafted ruffles and softly winding trails of crystals. But even these softer touches, like fringe and layered ruffles, were constructed from unexpectedly hard-edged materials that included mixed metal chains and stiff leather. Basic black hosiery brought a cohesiveness to the looks, which ranged from flouncy ice skater dresses to boudoir-style corsetry and softer draped frocks. When even aggressively dark designers like Felder Felder are lightening up, it is certain that romance is in the air for Fall 10.
