Even if Barneys Fashion’s Night Out was hosting famous insiders (with Mary Kate & Ashley Olsen bar-tending, Alexander Wang giving runway lessons and Juan Carlos Obando teaching salsa), Stylesight decided to head to the Meatpacking district instead for a more authentic neighborhood experience.
Retailers got everyone into the party mood with DJs and live music. Even if Stella McCartney was a little harder to get in, the experience outside the store was just as entertaining with street performances and vegetarian snacks served from a guerrilla pizza truck. Buckler’s underground shop party featured a friendly, hip crowd, and aside from DJs spinning and haircuts by Todd Sweeney, the designer, Andrew, displayed his collection that included some amazing jeans. Jean Shop was a little more quiet, but still a nice stop for tequila shots and live music. Scoop’s three main locations attracted its usual trendy following and Hudson jeans displayed a photo booth for anyone to capture their own personal style.
