Oh oh oh! I’m going to Fashion Week! Still working on press credentials, but I will for sure be hanging out by the tents, snapping photos of all the beautifuls for Stylesight. So if you’re near Bryant Park anytime during the weeklong madness, say hello and I’ll put you on the internets if you’re looking good! Speaking of looking good, all I’m thinking about now is what to wear. These are real fashion people, who will be judging the hell out me, so I’d better be looking decent if I want them to let me take their pictures. I’m obviously freaking out, and will probably just end up wearing deep-v tees shirts and skinny jeans like I always do because I’m too poor to shop right now. But if money were no object, here’s what I’d be wearing to Fashion Week.
Nothing makes me feel more confident and pulled together than a belted black dress. Plus, if I get all nervous and sweaty or spill coffee on myself, no one will notice!
A gorgeous 3/4 length sleeve coat would be just the thing for hanging around the tents during chilly nights. Honestly, I’d wear these even if it were a million degrees!
I’m currently using the cheap-o Marc by Marc tote that everybody in New York seems to have, and I can’t imagine that will cut the mustard. What I really want is a giant coin-purse bag, great for carrying the myriad things I’ll need to stay alive during the week.
Agatha Ruiz de la Prada
Elbow length gloves would go perfectly with my dresses and coats, but I’ll need my fingers free to shoot. Luckily, Tom Scott has me covered.
I’ve wanted a hat like this for months now, and Fashion Week would be the perfect excuse to buy one!
Barring that, a pretty ribbon headband will keep hair out of my face while I’m busy working AND make me look like a presentable lady.
When you’re on your feet all day, comfort is where it’s at for shoes. I’d stick to flats and boots, with the occasional wedge heel thrown in for good measure.
You never know, maybe I’ll score an invite to a fabulous after party. I’d better be prepared, right?
