São Paulo Fashion Week at the end of last month saw the city’s vibrant and diverse culture showcased through the beautiful designs on the catwalk. But for us, all eyes were on the pavement outside the shows too. The city never disappoints when it comes to street style, it’s the one place that you are guaranteed to see bright and bold colourways (no shy and retiring types here). It is known that we are reflections of our surroundings, and the inspiration of nature vs. the hustle of modern life is clearly represented and reflected in the street style apparel we spotted in São Paulo.
Key style details to look out for? Denim patches and embroidery were a noticeable trend on the streets of São Paulo ranging from floral embroidery to lip stick emoji patches, reflecting the rise of personalisation, we all want our jeans to look different from everyone else’s. Then in terms of footwear and accessories, it was all about metallics from shoes to bags and even sweaters. And finally inspired by the activewear vibe that took the country by storm during the Olympics, it’s clear the overall trend this season was comfort: think sneakers and boots teamed with comfortable loose fitting “mom jeans”.
