The gowns came out at night for the annual Golden Globes. This year 2016, all eyes were glued to the TV screens to see the acting talent but also to admire the dresses. It’s a great time to spotlight the key fashion trends taking centre stage.
Lady in Red Jennifer Lawrence was the showstopper of the Globes – she wore a striking floor-length Dior gown in a vivid fire-engine shade. The feature cut-outs at the waist also appeared on Brie Larson’s Calvin Klein dress and Kate Hudson’s Michael Kors dress, supporting the current trend for this particular design detail.
Cutouts continue to be a key theme in womenswear, developing to become less symmetrical and more abstract, adding new dimension to tops and dresses.
