Falling For New York

4pm – Broadway & Prince Sts., Soho, New York.

I’m a huge fan of warm weather and dread the onset of a New York winter as much as anyone I know. There is however, a small window of time where the last bits of unseasonably warm October weather have disappeared and yet the snow and ice and wind have not fully taken hold. This is the period we are currently in right now in New York. This is the time of the Fall peacock – it’s their time to shine – a time when you can really distance yourself from the mainstream fashion herd. Great wool coats, sweaters, cardigans, scarves, parkas, fur, leather, heels, wedges, boots, tights, stockings, berets, fedoras – you can just feel them chomping at the bit, they can’t wait to drag it all out. As luck would have it, I like to shoot photos of all the Fall peacocks, so brace yourselves because there’s lots more to come…

    well that’s adorable! chic!!

  • Much as I dislike fur…I find myself wishing for a fur collar this fall. I’m almost tempted to go see if I can find a vintage one…

Fur is a way for middle-aged women past their prime to get noticed (see: Sex and the City). It’s not chic. What it IS is decomposing.
