Fall Into Place

American photographer Ryan McGinley made a name for himself by candidly documenting nude hipsters frockling in the wild during cross-country road trips. (WARNING: Contains nudity)

While no clothing has been added to the equation – unless you count his ad campaigns for Stella McCartney, Missoni and Pringle of Scotland – McGinley has incorporated more choreography into his shoots through studio sessions and capturing the perfect moment when a naked body is flying into the night sky. Somewhere Place combines all of these elements with the use of live animals, bloodied bodies, landscape shots and ambivalent portraits.  However, McGinley’s unwavering fascination of the natural world remains the constant in the unpredictable experiement of man vs. wild. -Christina Mannatt

Somewhere Place is showing at Galerie Gabriel Rolt from April 9, 2011 – May 4, 2011.
