NEW YORK…Taking place in the Eyebeam Atelier in West Chelsea, Alexander Wang’s Fall ’08 collection was perfectly matched to the industrial locale. While some may refer to the collection as a nod to Marc Jacob’s infamous neo-grunge look of fall ’06, Wang’s vision provided a faultless alignment of androgynous sensibility and sly femininity, nonetheless. He balanced the proportions of over-sized suit jackets and trousers, with fitted tanks, vests, and ripped stockings and leggings-as-pants for an added downtown vibe. His favorite model/muse, Erin Wasson, played stylist for the evening, helping to put forth the edgy and sexy vision that she and Wang both share and embody.
