Eyelash Art

Stylesight checked out The Makeup Show NYC in late May and the talk of the show was Paperself’s paper eyelashes. Inspired by the art of Chinese paper cutting, a Taiwanese design firm created these intricately cut lashes to fuse elements of traditional Chinese culture with contemporary design. Eyelashes come in three motifs – the horse, peony and peach blossom. In Chinese culture, horses stand for success, the peony represents happiness and good fortune, and the peach blossom is a symbol of love. If recent trends on the streets are any indication, more specialized, artistic beauty products are just around the corner. Stay tuned for a comprehensive report on all the trends and brands at The Makeup Show, coming soon to Stylesight.
