Lounge-friendly knitwear label With&Wessel first popped up on our radar on Fashion’s Night Out when they opened their flagship store in New York’s Nolita district. We finally got a close-up look of their knitted fineries at a recent visit to Fiftytwo Showroom and were thoroughly impressed with the results.
Although they just opened their first store, With&Wessel got its start at the turn of the 20th century in Norway. Now the granddaughter of the original founders, Cathrine Wessel, has revived the brand in New York with the help of her husband Stian Tolnaes. The contemporary line mixes knitwear tradition with modern silhouettes like slouchy tees and harem pants that are comfortable enough for lounging around the home yet stylish enough to strut on the streets.
The eco-friendly line is crafted entirely out of merino wool, and for a cool price range of $35 to $250, these luxurious basics are easy to stock up on and especially ideal for wintertime layering.
With&Wessel is available online and in their store at 247 Elizabeth Street.
