NYCKED designers Jules Kim and Lorenzo Martone are going against the current, daring to give the swimwear industry a jolt of downtown attitude and club kid moxie. Diving into their sophomore collection, the duo found an appropriate muse (and lookbook backdrop) in our own New York City. The sights and sounds of the ultimate urban jungle make for some of the hottest suits we have seen this season: maillots play a provocative game of peek-a-boo with strategically placed cutouts, underwire tops get a kick out of bondage-y details, and neon-dipped bikinis flaunt flirty cat-eyed masks.
The team brought that streetwise swagger and offbeat humor to Miami during Swim Week, painting the town in acid colors and edgy sex appeal. A Cirque du Soleil-themed fashion show at the W Hotel played up the label’s unique character and made for one of the most memorable moments of the week. See for yourself in the video below.
