Our Moscow Inspiration City Guide explores the hidden gems and homegrown creative scene of this enigmatic destination, where Moscovites have rediscovered the local.

Moscow’s cultural scene is flourishing, despite the pandemic’s restrictions. Events such as the Beats Film Festival have opened to the public, while preserving a digital version. The Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts’ digital content includes 3D tours and video. For a more contemporary fix, GARAGE Museum of Contemporary Art is both progressive and minimal, with exhibitions highlighting social and ecological issues.

In retail, innovative spaces combine e-commerce concepts and IRL experiences. Lifestyle and home boutique Crosby Studios showcases interior pieces that are all available to order, including its signature blue velour couch. In the fashion sector, concept store KM20 is famous for its collaborations with luxe streetwear designers and offers exclusive installations and drops.

Drinking and dining hotspots

Moscow takes on both international and heritage cuisine, combining new flavours with eclectic interiors. Restaurant Severyane is famous for using the traditional pechka stove inspired by the culinary heritage of the Russian North, while hidden spot Meow Bar’s sophisticated snacks and good cocktails make for a friendly and informal atmosphere.
