Paris: Dramatic versus the everyday was the overall aesthetic at the MM6 Maison Margiela Resort collection- a clash of ideologies and a vibrant melange of contrasting textures, materials and themes. Sequined thigh high boots came paired with an electric blue utility jacket, while a sleeveless tunic unbuttoned at the shoulders revealed a sequin-lathered spaghetti strap camisole. New takes on industrial workwear were explored in oversize silhouettes and trippy seventies psychedelic floral patchworks – a dash of the unexpected, hinting almost towards the more conceptual couture and ready-to-wear collections. Several looks could be worn in two or three ways; sleeves and straps drooped off the body layered over trucker jackets and knit jumpers, whilst sweaters were worn tied around the waist or wrapped around the neck captured the youthful and effortless cool of the MM6 girl. – Anna Ross
