From February 21 to 23, Tokyo played host to Playtime Tokyo, the premier Japanese children’s trade show. Over 100 brands exhibited at Playtime Tokyo with the majority united by their almost universal use of organic cotton. Key prints spotted at the show included polka dots, stars, animals and cartoon prints. Color palettes centered around neon, navy and cream. Handmade, Mexicana, and Animal Kingdom themes were prevalent throughout the brands’ collections. Trims were also a key factor with faux fur, pom-poms and patch pockets present. Some of our favorite sightings included Australia’s Kutie Protocol‘s use of neon denim, Bibpa’s crisp and modern all-over prints in vibrant colors and Denico’s handmade sketch artist aesthetic.
