The Children’s Team just wrapped up the Pitti Bimbo show in Florence where we saw a ton of exciting F/W 13 looks for the upcoming season. Super rich color and fabrics were everywhere creating a luxurious feel for Fall. Velvet, leather and chunky knits were found across classifications in unusually bright colors for the winter season like cheery pink, coral and orange hues and poppy red and turquoise. Playing into the glitz and glam, oversized chunky jewels were the embellishment of choice and even chunky sweaters often sported glitter, sequins and metallic yarns.
For graphics, the “it” animal was clearly the gorilla, squirrel and baby chick which appeared on casual, tees, sweaters and hoodies. New prints and patterns mimicked classic winter themes and materials and included “faux” needlepoint and chunky hand-spun yarns. Must-have items include printed pajama-like shirts, bedazzled sweatshirts, Mod minis, capes and printed pants. Stay tuned for more Childrenswear trends, as we head to FIMI in Valencia later this week.
