With over 10,000 expected visitors and 510 brands, the first day of Pitti Bimbo lived up to its expectations with packed aisles, bustling booths and throngs of people waiting to enter Sala del Rondino for one of the many fashion shows. New editions to the Florence show included Dondup, Jucca, Zadig et Voltaire and Finger in the Nose. Among the runway shows that ran the first day were Elsy, Miss Grant, Fracomina Mini and Paul Smith Junior. The Children’s Team popped in on a number of our favorite brands–we loved the refined loungewear at 120 % Lino, the silk Peter Pan collar dresses at Anne Valerie Hash and eclectic mix of glitter and photo graphic knits at Simple Kids.
Stand out trends for F/W 12 included refined loungewear, tweed, drop waist dresses, Peter Pan collars, grandpa-inspired sweater knits, embellished collars, leather skirts and dresses (as well as trim), jersey tops with woven details, neon pink, burgundy, teal, emerald and mustard.
