Eun Jeong Hong

Korean-born designer Eun Jeong Hong won last year’s Fashion Fringe competition in London with an all-white collection featuring elaborate draping and an abundance of ruffles. Not straying far from her winning formula, Hong’s collection for S/S 10 was predominately white with a few iridescent silver pieces in the mix. Playing with texture, she constructed looks using a creative mélange of lace, jacquards, matte silk, satin and chiffon. Panels of pearls, flower appliqués and beading anchored swaths of fabric to the body. Hong’s silhouettes relied on the built-up shoulder and innovative drapery, which created volume in skirts and tops. Her conceptual work this season proved Hong was worthy of her accolades and is a designer to watch in seasons to come.
