Etsy pop-up store: The {NewNew} Treasure Chest, New York

A group of Etsy artists, designers, and crafters in the New York area calling themselves The {NewNew} have joined together to open a pop-up shop on Governors Island, offering locally designed and produced products including original artwork, jewelry, glass, ceramics and textiles.

The shop, located in a historic home built in the 19th century to shelter U.S. Army officers, features items from over 30 emerging artists and designers including fine art by J. Topolski and recycled cotton messenger bags from Groundsel, both with motifs and designs inspired by Governors island itself. Open through September 5th, offerings will change weekly, making it perfect for repeat visits and unique finds.

The {NewNew} can also be found at various other locations this summer, including the Brooklyn Flea, the Hester Street Market and the Brooklyn Indie Market. Visit their blog for information on vendors and locations, as well as daily craft-related tutorials, recipes and tips.
