Milan: Veronica Etro took her woman on a fashionable world tour this season, borrowing elements from stops along the way. Brushed wools and tweeds referenced classic English tailoring, geometric patterns hinted at Native American crafts, bordered pieces recalled Middle Eastern rugs, and baroque motifs were from Etro’s native Italy. Below-the-knee hemlines were on-trend, as were wide-leg trousers. Iridescent fabrics and metallic leathers added a glamorous touch, while bits of fur were ultra-luxe. Flaps of fabric that emerged from the waistbands of tailored trousers were perhaps misguided, but collaged draped dresses mixing the signature ethnic motifs were flattering and visually interesting.
