Milan: Building on the shamanistic themes of F/W 12, Kean Etro looked to exotic India for inspiration this season. Clothes were based on the traditional dress of Indian men, with fluid silhouettes created of silky layers. Elongated tunics, slouchy pajama pants and drape-y robes sauntered down the runway in an ombré procession of rich color — inky blues, spicy oranges, golden yellows — then, reaching a state of nirvana, lightened to a range of icy pales and creamy whites. Nehru jackets with decorative frog closures were an authentic representation of the theme, as were the accessories — satin turbans and leather toe-ring sandals.  —Anna Jane Davis
