We’ve blogged about Eric Kvatek recently; he’s the talented photographer behind many great denim look books, campaigns and brand imagery including Japan’s Kapital, PRPS and Free People. Well this month he’s putting on a special exhibition in New York, inspired by something very close to his work in denim: Japanese Indigo Boro textiles.
New York Gallery Mondo Cane will be exhibiting his own personal collection of Japanese textiles. Eric has been collecting these beautiful specimins over his years of work in Japan and has ammassed a very impressive range of antique Boro textile, wall hangings, quilts and textile pieces, all displaying fantastic use of patch and repair and sashiko stitch. We think its well worth a visit!
Erik Kvatek, Japanese Indigo: Boro opens June 21st and runs through July 12th at: Mondo Cane / 174 Duane St, Tribeca / New York, NY 10013
