Milan: Rodolfo Paglialunga presented his first menswear collection for the label, keeping the Jil’s minimalistic codes intact. He combined a romantic seventies-inspired affair with baggier and boxier silhouettes. Trousers stood out – they were cut beautifully with outsized pleats to give special attention to the waist. The materials used throughout the lineup were heavy in appearance – thick felted wools, double-faced cashmeres and rigid denims. The tailored suits felt approachable and current –  workwear and utility details added sartorial interest. Elsewhere, oversized turtleneck and polo sweaters came in offbeat colours and boxy raincoats and double-breasted coats belted at the hips. It was a promising debut for Paglialunga. – Diego Sanchez
