Energising colours to offset overcast winter days at Bottega Veneta

Milan: When creative director Tomas Maier was working on this Pre-summer presentation he had the October-November delivery schedule in mind. With this commercial intention he created a lightweight and seasonally appropriate collection.  The colour palette of shades of pink, orange and blue placed emphasis on mood lifting colours to brighten up dark, overcast autumn days. An unlined Salmon pink shearling coat over an orange turtleneck and red wide leg trouser was the first look to help us to get through gloomy November days. Daggered lapel collars across single and double-breasted blazers dotted a line to his 70’s inspired fall collection. Patchwork pleated A-line skirts worn with classic turtlenecks or v-necks lent the brand’s signature, an effortless lady chic. Sportier takes such as a leather bomber, bonded fabric and colour blocking ran through the whole line, delivering an easy going pre-summer mood. “Resort is about clothes we would all wear every day,” says Maier. – Christa Kaufmann
