Milan: Giorgio Armani dubbed his S/S 13 Emporio collection “neat,” a moniker describing both his cropped suiting and draped silk separates, items that could also be dubbed “soft” or “fluid.” Beyond a handful of blazers and shorts in a silvery Prince of Wales check, ensembles were extremely light and relaxed, comprised of pleated jumpsuits, pajama trousers and asymmetric tunics paired with nipped waist perforated leather jackets. Evening also had a sleepy appearance, courtesy pastel tap shorts and camisoles as well as a blurry geometric print. Girly babydoll silhouettes were a new fascination for Armani and he accentuated Spring’s very youthful message by closing the presentation with strapless metallic a-line shells atop matching shorts and miniskirts.—Nina Stotler
