PARIS…Young Esteban Cortazar, who burst onto the scene in 2003 to become the youngest designer to ever show at Bryant Park during New York fashion week, has been given the large task of reinventing Emanuel Ungaro and presenting in Paris. Fortunately for juniors, Cortazar brought some of his native Miami to the chic European city, injecting the S/S 09 collection with a healthy dose of ruffles, shimmery fabrics and bright prints. Raucous florals exploded on voluminous minis and handwritten message graphics made a dressy skirt and a silk jumpsuit more playful and young. Look to Ungaro this season for an exuberant vision of femininity appropriate for this market.
