CLEAN AND MODERN
New York: Inspiration drawn from the architectural shapes and futuristic designs of Eero Saarinen’s TWA terminal was the focus of Elie Tahari’s collection for Resort 2014. Linear, geometric shapes and an acute play on proportions rendered smart, body conscious silhouettes. Slim pants were tailored in stretch jacquard, while A-line dresses and assymetric tops were cut from either lightweight crepe or the signature butter-light leather that has become a de rigueur for the brand. Detailed finishes such as raw edges, leather insets and zipper details were executed in a predominantly black-and-white palette. All key components for a collection that was cool clean and modern. — Lizzy Bowring
