Elie Saab Couture

PETIT FOURS PARTY

Paris:
As models floated down the runway in frothy pastel gowns, it seemed as if designer Eli Saab had released a handful of blossoms into the breeze. Gauzy lace, tulle and chiffon felt  weightless, save for the shimmery beading that formed leaves and blossoms on the surface. A parade of saccharine sweet pastel frocks varied in silhouette from flirty fit-and-flare minis to slinky columns to full-skirted princess gowns, all beguilingly sheer.  A series of filmy nude dresses encrusted with iridescent paillettes, along with the presence of sheer long sleeves, added a just a bit of modern illusion.   —Anna Jane Davis
