A new book celebrates the vast body of work and immeasurable influence of legendary costumer, Edith Head. Edith Head: The Fifty-Year Career of Hollywood’s Greatest Costume Designer offers a comprehensive look at Head’s designs throughout the five decade span of her career. Written by Jay Jorgenson, it includes images of Head’s actual sketches, as well as backstage photos of the designer and some of the famous leading ladies who wore her designs. Head racked up 400 film credits over the years; a few of her notable films include All About Eve, Funny Face, Rear Window, and A Place in the Sun. When she passed away in 1981, she had accumulated thirty-five Oscar nominations.
