E-Paper Watch Gets Over $2 Million Funding on Kickstarter

Pebble watch is a new electronic-paper watch (currently at pre-production stage) that can be customized by its user through running apps such as new watchfaces, music control and sports. Launching on business start-up site Kickstarter with an aim to raise $100,000, Pebble Technology‘s goals were blown out of the water when they received a staggering $1 million funding within the first 28 hours. Today, their public funding stands at nearly $3 million, indicating a growth in demand for accessories with integrated technology.

The Pebble connects wirelessly to your iPhone and Android Smartphones, alerting the user through vibration when they are receiving incoming calls, emails and messages on their phone. The design itself is small, light, modern and minimalist following the familiar Apple design concept. The watch is available in a concise range of colors; arctic white, jet black and cherry red (A fourth color option will be decided by votes received by backers).
