Michael Kors celebrates American classics for S/S 20
Sep 11, 2019 | By Cassandra Napoli
Paris: For his latest collection, Kim Jones paid tribute to British designer Christopher Nemeth, whose handmade clothes established the codes for the deconstruction trend in the Eighties. Jones carefully chose four original prints from Nemeth’s archives and splashed them as main motifs throughout the lineup. Hand-drawn rope-like patterns were exquisitely crafted onto outerwear, trousers and knits – shearling coats were laser-engraved with this distinctive motif and gorgeous bonded cashmere sweaters were embossed with cork masterfully. The whole collection was fresh and dynamic – jeans were needle-punched with luxurious indigo cashmeres and outdoors parkas were blocked with orange coloured panels, embodying the refined sportiness of the collection. – Diego Sanchez
