DVF looks to the Cote d’Azur for a glamorous take on the Fifties

New York: Diane Von Furstenburg looked to the Côte d’Azur as inspiration for her Spring 2015 collection. It was a step away from the expected DVF lineup – young, pretty and very a la Bardot–esque. The opening silhouette was cut light and flirty in black and white gingham, continuing the print in a baby-doll dress, sweet wrap tops, cute shorts and slim trousers. Encapsulating on the trend that is prevalent through many of the New York shows, she got in to the swing with sexy and flirtatious thigh-high slits – one, a jersey tank dress with a chiffon skirt embodied just that. The designer mixed in bright prints of abstratc florals and stylized fronds.  This was a collection that was both fun and youthful. – Lizzy Bowring
