For the eight edition of DesignMiami/ this December, champagne brand Perrier-Jouët is commissioning Dutch designer Simon Heijdens to create an immersive installation that will tap in to the brands Art Nouveau history.

More widely known for his light projections that explore the complex relationship between nature and technology, Heijdens’ temporary piece will comprise a large liquid light screen that experiments with movement, materials and volume – giving a “21st century twist” to ornamental and sinuous style of classic Art Nouveau, according to Blouin ArtInfo.

“Simon introduces a new medium of expression, which we believe makes an important and forward-thinking contribution to the design world. The installation space becomes a screen upon which Simon tells his story. Light and liquid create the narrative,” explains Perrier-Jouët’s Style Director, Axelle de Buffevent.

Keep an eye out for Stylesight’s forthcoming coverage of this year’s DesignMiami/ show, which runs from December 4 – 8, 2013.  Samantha Fox
