New York: For Spring, Duckie Brown’s Steven Cox and Daniel Silver examined and re-interpreted the building blocks of every mans wardrobe: Jeans and a T-shirt. But far from the everyday were the voluminous sheer t-shirts and sporty windbreaker jackets, which the designers elevated in fluid organza’s and silk Charmeuse. Roomy paper-bag waist trousers came lapping in volume, delicately cinched with satin ribbons creating dramatic silhouettes. An oversize suit came doused in acidic yellow, almost drowning the model in its soft unlined construction- less borrowed-from-the-boys, more borrowed-from-dad. The designers honed in on the most exquisite of details; from gently pin-ticked sleeves to ruffle-like hoods upon anoraks – all soaked in a muted palette of salmon and lilac evoking an air of elegant, effortless dressing. – Anna Ross
