CLASH OF THE TITANS
New York: For S/S 11, Steven Cox and Daniel Silver seamlessly fused well-known elements from past seasons for a successful celebration of pattern, contemporary proportions and bursts of color. After a grouping of easy-going, neutral-colored looks with subtle nomadic undertones, these masters of surprise opened up the gates with a twisted and whimsical assortment full of mixed patterns. A traditional pair of windowpane plaid pants was paired with a leopard-patterned blouson for a harmonious juxtaposition of contemporary and classic. Sheer animal print shirts were novel camouflages, while beautifully draped knits, jersey pants and laundered leather jackets became the basics for a new generation. Continually praised for their quirky approach to styling, the designers’ spirited voice represents the way urban men want to dress in the 21st century.
