BLACK CREEK BIKERS
Milan: A runway consisting of a cave, working snow machines, grimy press releases peppered with phrases like “black creek bikers” and “grunge workers”, and an orchestral blast of Nirvana set the scene for the Amish-Rebel look that informed Dean and Dan Caten’s F/W 11 collection. The steamy settlers sported rugged low-slung jeans, wide-brimmed hats and the duo’s quintessential formal looks (worn layered with distressed denim). While the styling was a bit one-note, the clothes succeeded in the spirit in which they were intended — taking a heritage inspiration and making it sexy and fun.
