Dressed to Thrill at Lemaire

Paris: A new era dawns for design duo, Christophe Lemaire and Sarah- Linh Tran. With collaboration with Uniqlo announced, the brands aesthetic is about to grace a larger audience. “More dangerous, less melancholic” is how Lemaire described the vision for their future: as the collection unveiled, one could almost feel the danger dial being turned up a notch, confidence seeping through the pores of the collection. Bare shoulders, plunging necklines and belted waists came juxtaposed in masculine fabrics- melton, tweed and oil cloth – immaculately tailored and so covetable. Melancholy not entirely kicked aside, Lemaire delivered a handful of exquisite winter wardrobe classics; a wrap-over coat in herringbone wool heralded a plethora of stunning outerwear  – pea coats, duffels and trench coats came with off kilter details like bell sleeves and flared hems. Sweeping stoles were worn with midi skirts whilst work wear inspired suits came in boyish cuts – but nothing worn underneath. An immaculate display of things to come for the Lemaire lady. – Anna Ross
