At Stylesight, we’re big fans of innovative packaging and brands’ efforts to stand out from the competitive crowd, and this recent marketing campaign by Downy fabric softener and laundry detergent proves our point. In order to demonstrate Downy’s specially formulated fragrance of just-washed laundry, and the fact that it lasts for up to five days, the company created special packages that resembled the fresh produce commonly displayed in supermarket aisles. While picking out their weekly groceries, shoppers were surprised to find a new item amongst the produce — freshly laundered clothing. While the packaged items weren’t actually for sale, it was a clever attempt to get Downy’s brand message across.
