Downsized Draping

London…Sinha-Stanic

In an edited collection of nineteen draped dresses and a singular pantsuit, this design duo went back to their roots for F/W 09. On the topic of the small scale of their recent showing, Stanic said, “Actually, it’s been enjoyable. Now that we’ve stopped dealing with the big-show scenario, we’ve gone back to what people liked about our clothes in the first place. Downsizing means I’m draping dresses on Fiona’s body again, like we used to.” These day-to-evening dresses employed a technique of using tucks and folds, placed to “minimize the hip and flatter where it matters—and make it modern,” said Sinha. Their shade of purple in their collection was inspired by the backdrop of their last show. Talk about scaling back!
